Spring has sprung at the little brewery in Shiner, TX (pop. 2,070). And with it, our newest brew, Shiner Dortmunder-Style Spring Ale. The Old World classic pours deep gold in color, with a white head and smooth flavor. Its medium hop bitterness and hints of grain, honey and floral hops will refresh you like a sun-drenched nap on a lush green lawn.

At first comes across like a slightly bitter pale ale then it morphs intoo something more lagerlike. Looks laike a pale lager. Yes, strongish bite like a bitter pale lager tho the bitterness is short lived with each slug. Shiner makes some decent offerings over a wide range of styles. Good carbanation, almost to my average liking. Lite body. Not bad overall but could have a few morew manners.

Bottle. Pours with a white head and a golden body. Good retention. Crisp, light corn, light fruit notes. Very sweet, bready, medium bitterness for the style. Lively bubbles. Dry.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear orange golden with a small creamy white head that leaves decent spotty lacing. The aroma is a sweet floral wheat and wet bread. Medium mouthfeel with a peppery malt with yeast and a spicy finish. Do not know what this is supposed to be it is such a weird style for a winter beer. Why shiner, so many straight disappointments.
