Smuttynose IPA is a physical salute to the glory of the American hop grower. The citrusy hop flavor coming from a mixture of Simcoe and Santiams is pleasantly balanced by a smooth bitterness from the Amarillo hops. The beer itself is light bodied and crisp with a golden color that will throw a slight haze, as we bottle it unfiltered. At 65 IBU’s, this is definitely not a training-wheels IPA, but is meant for hop lovers looking to satisfy their craving in a way that’s not easy to find. We think they’ll be quite pleased.

Draught @ William K, kurvi. As Finest kind IPA. Amber colored, thick white head. Caramel, dried fruits, hops in aroma. Flavor has citrusy notes, caramel, sweetness and bitter hops. Feels light, high drinkability, but I miss the fruitiness. Probably awesome fresh.

Draught @ One Pint as "Smuttynose Finest Kind IPA". Aroma has tropical fruits, minerals and some sweet toffee notes. Flavour is heavy and sweet with tropical fruits, caramel, grapefruit and mellow gluey tones. Creamy and smooth palate with foamy feeling. Finishes with biscuits and hay. Lingering bitterness in aftertaste. A very American IPA at all its sweetness.

Hazy golden Amber color. Big caramel malt, pine and citrusy nose. Caramel malt backbone, lighter body than expected, pine and citrus. Not overly complex, but quaffable and well balanced.
