A huge, sweet Barley Wine with complex caramel malt notes, balanced by generous hopping and a high alcohol content. This fruity and malty beer is best enjoyed while keeping warm in the brutal winter months. January release.

Pink waxed bottle. Pours deep brown color with no foam. Nose of a bit of bourbon or whiskey, some deep malt smells, too. Taste is kind of syrupy, even a bit sugary, but there's still some malt attached. Any bitterness is pretty much gone. But this has thickened out pretty nicely. Perhaps some book leather and mapled pipe tobacco.

yellow wax. dark mahoghany pour with a fluffy beige head, with thick sticky lacing on my glass. Aroma has some nice citricy hops, but it goes very well with the thick bready caramel malts. Wow i could smell this all day. Some alcohol comes throgh with some nice earthy notes. Flavour is front loaded with caramel malts, with a nice hop bite in the finish that brings a nice bitterness, and goes well with the alcohol bite. Wow, outstanding american style barleywine. Just amazing.

Sweet, malty, boozy, hoppy. Caramel and some stone fruit, piney, bitter. Oldschool westie tipa/bw, nostalgic. Nice.

Caramely malty, piney and resinous with some dry grassy hops and bitterness. Old skool DIPA-barley wine. Somehow I still like these kind of beers. OMT seal of approval

Poured from 650mL bottle (2016 vintage) @ Black Xmas. Orangey brown with small white head. A bit old, caramel, feint bitterness. Decent.

Tangerine, fig, raisin and leather. Some sweet tobacco, florals. Dark brown. Pour with decent head. A fair dose of booze. Marmalade. Boozy sweet finish. Tap.

Bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Thanks Joe! Pours a deep golden amber with a finger of foam that lingers. Grassy hops, toasted caramel, toasted molasses and big, chewy breaded malt aromas. Nice and dry on the palate with more toasted whole grain bread, honey, toffee raisin and faint smoked caramel. Great peppery hop and grassy notes towards the finish. A big beer but great balance and not overly sweet like a lot of #bil these days.
