We love our local roaster’s New Orleans Iced Coffee so much we decided to use their beans in our brew. Redband Stout is made with Indonesian and Ethiopian beans using our 18-hour cold brew extraction method, resulting in a satisfying brew with intense coffee aromatics. The marriage of two of our favorite beverages.

16 ounce can thanks to Ed! Pours a wonderful jet black hue with a medium thick brown head. The aroma is heavy sweet coffee. A nice flavor of rich sweet coffee, light chalk, some dark fruit, pretty dry, quite drinkable. Nice.

On the menu board as Espresso Stout, sold in cans as Redband. There’s just something about the brewpubs in the Quad Cities that they wall want to have a coffee stout on tap. Even from a taster glass, this one has a lotta lotta coffee nose. Definitely espresso in the smell, matched by a solid black body and some fizzy foam. Taste most like a cool, admittedly fizzy, shot of espresso as any coffee beer. In this sampler glass, it looks like a shot of espresso (fool your co-workers!).

Pour is a jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is a nice roasted malt with some coffee lingering in the backround. Flavor is an almost intense coffee with a little chocolate left on the tounge. Even a little bitter hops can be detected. Not as over the top coffee like Founders’s coffee beers but this was pretty decent.
