22oz bomber pours with a slightly hazy amber brown colored body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up a blend of crystal malts, a dash of chocolate malts and lightly roasted malts as well as some pine hops and a bit of earthy spicy hops. The taste starts with lightly roasted malts, crystal malts and soft chocolate malts heading into bitter to near resiny pine hoppiness. To midway modest levels of earthy spicy hops meet some earthy almost coffee like roastiness. This red ipa works pretty well.

Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 12/24/14

Aroma: The nose is toffee and caramel, with spice, nutty notes, grapefruit, pine, and resin
Appearance: A dark reddish-brown color with a giant, foamy beige head (boarding on a gusher)
Flavor: It has a solid malty sweetness, nutty, a little spice, and a strong hop bitterness
Palate: The mouthfeel gets a touch sticky, with a medium-plus body, and a fairly dry finish
Overall Impression: The components of a nice beer all seem to be here, but it just doesn't quite come together. It's one of those beers where, on a cooking competition show, the judge would tell the chef that there's a good idea in there somewhere, but the execution wasn't quite up to snuff. There's a good beer in here somewhere, but on the output I only found an okay beer.

Bomber from Craft Beer Kings, aka Plaza Market. Pours dark copper with a huge creamy/fizzy head. Aromas of pine and roasted malt (lots of foam interfering here). Med +body. Flavor is rather nutty roasted malt, and apparently with pine. Its fairly malty, and perhaps just a bit more than I’d like - but there is a lot of hop.

22 ounce bottle. Dark reddish brown color topped by a large rocky beige head. Sweet roasted malt aroma with notes of toffee and citrus hops. Big malty flavor upfront. Notes of burnt sugar, toasted pecans and resiny hops dominate the palate. Spicy hops finish this IPA nicely. Lots of flavor throughout. Big and bold, this one’s a winner.

Bottle, 22oz. Nice lacings left as the light beige head sinks. Amber in color, looking quite clear. The aroma is very hoppy, with resins, grapefruit, pine cones and lemon peel. Quite malty too, caramel and a faint nutty hint. The flavor has a very nice blend of piney, resiny hops and pineapple, and caramel maltyness and nuts. Rather bitter too, dealing very nice with the residual sugars. Full body, not dry, but sort of, and with a very nice carbonation level. It misses some of the quenching qualities of certain IPA’s, but it’s a damn fine beer that I’d love to see again. 130822

Pours clear deep amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, citrus and pine. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long slightly warm, malty, caramel and piney finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
