Bottle from a trade. Many thanks! Dark brown colour, beige foam. Nose of vanilla, wood, sweet malts, plums. Also enough hoppy bitterness to balance. Nice Barley wine.

Bottle thanks to Minh. Pours a very dark brown with medium beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is french toast, vanilla, brown sugar. Thick mouth, very boozy, vanilla, oak, nice sweetness, really enjoyed this.

Bottle - thanks Tooch4321! Pours hazy deep chestnut, small fizzy tan head that mostly dissipates leaving a ring that laces well. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, dark sugars. Flavor is quite sweet, lots of dark sugars, toffee, toasted marshmallow, vanilla, bourbon, light bitterness, a bit of orange zest. Fullish body, creamy mouthfeel. Fairly hot, but otherwise a damn nice beer.

Sampled at GABF. Pours a caramel amber with some creamy, beige head. Nose is smokey, sweet, boozy, caramel, brown sugar, malt. Flavor is super sweet and boozy, rum, cane sugar. Super sweet finish. Needs a lot of time to mellow out.

GABF Pro-Am Table 2012 (Adam: feel free to move my rate, I don’t see any other versions of Fireside Chat). Pours with a hazed brown hued body with an off-white head. Hugely boozy aroma with brown sugar, nutty, earthy, leathery, chestnuts. Flavors are extremely sweet, bitter and a hint metallic. Light char, some chocolate. Full bodied and quite warming.
