Deep amber in color, Stone Pale Ale is robust and full flavored. A delicate hop aroma is complemented by a rich maltiness.

Bottle from saveur-biere.com. Beautiful red copper, clear body, with a medium, creamy, white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, peach, red berries, caramel. Tastes of grapefruit, pine, peach, caramel, some black tea. Mouthfeel is medium, oily, with a medium carbonation and it finishes bitter, with lemon zest, pine and some peach. Very good. Easy to drink, with some nice hop bite and a good balance between bitter hops and caramelic malts. The hop bill could be a bit more complex maybe, but overall a really enjoyable APA.

Keg at Brewdog AGM 2014. Pretty much what you’d expect - clear amber, thin white head. Aromas of grapefruit and caramel. Bitter taste. Solid.

An orange brown beer with a dense, medium and blond head. The nose has some tropical fruits, peaches, caramell and some pine needles. Taste has pine needles, dryer than aroma, only hint of fruits, wood, medium bitterness. Medium bodied, easy to drink. More aromatic fruits would be needed, now only the bitterness is dominating.

Keg at the South Beach Bar & Grille, South Beach, SD 19/04/14. Had this many times in years gone by, time to catch up with a rating! Clear dark amber with a moderate off white come light beige covering. Nose is floral hops, light perfume, caramel malt, orange, toasted malt. Taste comprises caramel malt, perfumed tones, subtle hoppage, orange rind, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. A well made easy drinking APA which would suit those just starting to acquire a taste for hoppy beers. I used to think this was hoppy when I first had it 10 or so years ago, how my palate has changed - decent enough none the less.

Bottle @ Hanly’s Bar, Stokestown [030214]
Amber, clear, big frothy white head
Aroma - soft citrus, touch of grapefruit, piney hops, caramel malts
Taste - citrus zest, piney hops, orange zest, quite a light caramel malt background, not too malty
Palate - medium carb, light to medium body, quite sweet. Finish of bitter zest, lingering bitter hops
Overall - Quite a soft beer from Stone

No powiem ze jestem milo zaskoczony. Nareszcie piwo mocnio nachmielone i bardzo bardzo gozkie w piciu. O dziwo srednio sie wyczuwa w zapachu cytrusowosc chmieli z USA. A w smaku takze jakby to byluy inne odmiany, europejskie. Dziwne mam troche skojarzenia. Mocna podstawa slodowa orzechowa koncowka no i to o czym juz wspomnialem, bardzo gozki smak i finisz.
