Sampled from the tap at Aces n Ales Tenaya Way. Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has sweet chocolate with dark grains and a light roast note coming through. Flavor has chocolate and dark grains with a touch of raisin and roasted malts supporting.

What is good with a variety of dark and roasted malts + cocoa. Flavor and pallet is where it falls down some. Flavor is like Noah’s somewhat but also some heavy bitterness chalk Inus a little mineral and tree bark. Soft carbonation and a chalky finish.

On tap at Beermongers. Pours a pitch black color with a medium beige head. A big sweet fruity cofffe nose. The flavor is big cofffe, dark fruit, cocoa. Very good.

Dark brown. Pours without much head. On the nose, a fair bit of chocolatey character, slightly husky maltiness. On the palate, more sweetness comes out. Burnt imperial stout notes but also a lot of bitter chocolate on the palate as well. I like it.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma is quite dry, with cocoa nibs and a little roast. Flavour is quite dry, with lots of roasted malt and bone dry cocoa nibs. Very dry, with lots of cocoa nibs on the finish. Pleasant and well-balanced. Nothing overly deep or elegant, but it works. Good stuff.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Noam’s place. Thanks Levi. Black with a tan head. Great aroma of chocolate, coffee, malt, caramel, nuts. Sweet flavor with roast, chocolate, some coffee, caramel, and a bitter finish, slightly boozy. Medium to full-bodied. Very good.

50cl bottle, nose has toast, some smoke, heavy chocolate, heavy malt, a bit chalky. Flavor has baker’s chocolate, heavy malt and molasses, dried and stale toast. Finishes bready. A little stale tasting.
