A smooth, light golden lager with 55 calories and the crisp, clean finish of Budweiser Select. Select 55 is brewed with caramel malts and a blend of imported and domestic hopping. Select 55 has a light golden color and offers aroma notes of toasted malt and subtle hopping.

Bottle. I was trying for all I was worth to smell something, and finally got weak bubblegum, but that’s a stretch. Golden with a small white skiff of bubbles. Bubblegum malt flavored water. Even my husband, a die hard Miller High Life drinker, said this stuff is bad.

Bottle. Light sour barley malt aroma. Golden yellow color with moderate but short-lasting head. Slightly sweet barley malt flavor. Weak but just probably better than Bud Select - actually not horrible for a 2.5% AB beer and no off tastes.

Sampled from a 12 oz clear bottle this beer poured a medium amber color with a small foamy white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was faintly tangy and dryish with a touch of cardboard. The flavor was dry and very mild with touches of cardboard and nut. Almost no finish. Light body. Bland but inoffensive.

Clear, very light yellow pour with a quickly dissipating white head. Sour rotted corn aroma. Smells somewhat like vomit. No flavor. No alcohol either. I’ll stick with the water.

I can see the corporate meeting now... "how can we make or beer taste even more bland and lifeless than it already does while trying to undercut the other brewers who already produce these low-alcohol beers? Lifeless, pours like a Bud, smells and tastes like a bud that’s been watered down. I give it a higher rating than I expected if only because the beer was simply tasteless instead of putrid. If you’re watching calories or carbs, just don’t drink instead of subjecting yourself to this kind of beverage.

Most certainly one of the worst beers I’ve ever had. I can’t even find a way to do a good sensory analysis of this. Rather, the best description is to imagine taking a bad pale lager and diluting it with carbonated mineral water. There you have it.

12 oz bottle into English pint. So here we have AB’s latest ripoff of another Miller-Coors product. Even the bottle looks extremely similar to MGD 64. Lame (not that MGD 64 is actually good or anything). Extremely faint aroma of grain, nothing else. Pours light golden with a fast disappearing head and surprisingly good lacing (this disappears completely halfway through the glass); big bubbles float to the surface. Tastes like carbonated water, which was expected. This might be the blandest beer I’ve ever had. Massively carbonated. No bitterness. This is probably the dullest, boringest beer on Earth. This is the C-SPAN of beer. At least there are no offensive flavors, I guess. Addendum: aromas of adjunct grain make themselves known after sitting a bit.

Yep, a clear bottle. Smell is Ok, perhaps some tartness in the olfactory. Very light flavor with lots of sizzling carbonation. Very light indeed. I kinda liked the bud select as a lager but perhaps this is a little too light. Not bad tho, goes down very easy. Almost like soda water to an extent. At 2.4%, I bet you could drink this all day and not catch a buzz. A true sessional beer if you can put up with the lack of personality in the flavor. I truely am surprized that this is less than 3%! It does seem to have more bite than many other light beers. Virtually no aftertaste except for watered down pale lager. Enjoyable to an extent and it is rather refreshing for a change. A better tasting beer than most other lights.

Bottle. Translucent straw orange-brown body, thin off-white ring of carbonation. Light, grassy nose, a touch adjuncty and bready. Light, tangy body, watery and sharply carbonated, with metallic bitterness and grain. Very light, but inoffensive.

12 oz bottle from GM Liquors. Clear gold, medium pale yellow head. Nose of sweet creamed corn. Flavor is watery and kind of pasty with a hint of caramel; not nearly as bad as I thought it might be.
