Bottle. Pours pitch black with a thick small mocca head. Aromas of smoke, tobacco, coffee, caramel, fudge, licorice. Taste is less smoke, still loads though, ugh. Just not me. Coffee, caramel, fudge, licorice.

Tap at Mikkeller Tokyo. Aroma is great, roasty, choc, coffee, but not overpowering. Not much sign of the barrel. Bit of spice, licquorice and smoke. Taste is good. Smooth, roast and choc dominated with just a hint of the whisky at the end. Quite oaty. Further down, booze kicks in. Still nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Beer Geek Brunch Weasel (Islay Edition) on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:05 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 9 | Flavor - 9 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 9. Sample, BOTTLE 50 CL. Vintage 2009. Pitch black, dark espresso head. Super strong band aid and iodine aroma, some burnt rubber. Dry roasty taste, marginal notes of dark malts and coffee, hints of chocolate. Iodine. No coffee. Loads of charred wood. Some hoppy bitterness. Really weird, but still good after 8 years.
