Nearly twenty years ago, a local farmer stopped by our brew pub looking to sell his truck full of wild Maine blueberries, providing the inspiration for our Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale. That year our beer debuted at the first-ever Maine Brewer’s Festival where it was enthusiastically received. This brew stands alone as a beer first, ending with a subtle berry finish. Unlike many fruit beers on the market, which are imbalanced with sweetness our amber ale isn’t overly fruity—just enough berry flavor to complement the hops.

On tap @ Top Hops. Well, it doesn't look like a blueberry beer this, it's light blurry and almost wood-caramel in color with a really nice big and lasting just off-white lacing top. The nose has not a good amount of blueberries to be honest. Soft caramel, a little bit of grains and wild flowers with heather and traces if frozen strawberries. Not extreme, fair. A bit more blueberries in the taste. It's on the sweet side yeah, and as mentioned the blueberries shines more through here. Lots of thin caramel, some soapy traces and a little bit of malty sweetness. Absolutely drinkable, actually I could most likely drink blots of this, but it's not a fantastic tasty or flavorful beer. 14.06.2013

18.06.2013, tap @ Whole Foods Market NY:
Small shortlasting head. Aroma is fruity, artificial dark berries, hay, caramel, sugar, grass, cardboard. Taste is dry, artificial dark berries, hay, harsh grass, berry skin, wood. Medium bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Why do they even make this crap?!

tap - Pours amber with an aroma that’s all blueberries. It’s sweet with assertive blueberry flavor that’s obvious though not overwhelming. It’s a refreshing beer with some mild hops detectable in the finish. Decent.

Bottle. Pours a clear orange copper with a small creamy off white head that diminishes rather quickly leaving behind decent spotty lacing. The aroma is a strong blueberry and wheat. Medium mouthfeel with a fruity malt taste with blueberry and a nice sweet finish. Blueberry does not overpower and linger like most blueberry beers. Easy to drink, a good fruit beer from Atlantic Brewing.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of cinnamon and blueberries. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of blueberries, leading to a dry and slightly acidic finish. The body is thin. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

12 oz bottle. Pours an amber color with a medium white head. Aroma is blueberry. Flavor is blueberry, not a ton of "beer" flavor - just a plain ale taste with light hops, malts. Slightly artificial, but enjoyable enough.

12oz bottle. Pours a thick amber brown color. Great blueberry aroma. The blueberries are in the forefront of the taste, but there is a solid malt backbone as well. A nice, classy East Coast Blueberry Ale.

A dark amber ale with a good thick off white head. A nice blueberry mash aroma, light caramel malt. In mouth, good malt base with light bluebeery essence. Medium bodied. Bottle from Inertiaboy. shared Aug. 2008, while harvesting his hops.
