This is definitely not your Dad’s 30 weight!
An enormously rich and satisfying beer, Old Viscosity begins with a malty nose with caramel and chocolate overtones. An incredibly rich beer with substantial malty notes, Old Viscosity finishes with a dry, sweet Dark Chocolate bitterness.

2011 vintage. Pours black, creamy tanned, médium sized, surprisingly stable head. Smell is bit dusty, sure, but not very cis 2 nonenal at least. Taste is full, roasty, deep port base underneath. Bit chocolate bitterness, malty, rather dry. Bit burnt. Aging it this long ( even though not intentional) wasn't perhaps the best choice to make, but sure this still is quite good.

19oz of pitch black imperial stout. Super dry. Karakuchi. A bit of dark chocolate but mostly super dry, roasted malt.

Bottle at Craftheads. Big night... Dark brown black, golden bubbly head. Aroma is oaty, smoke and spice, darkness, whiff of booze, black treacle. Taste is lovely. Treacle, chocolate, cocoa, bit of coffee, smoky, oats. Finish is dry and long. Lots of malt. Really nice. Smooth and dangerous, quite thick. When it warms, more bitter. Nice. Light sweetness.

Impressively roasty but also chocolatey. Was expecting to hate this but sipped on it for a long while as it warmed up. Bit Smokey finish

19.2 oz can from Irvine Spectrum Whole Foods at home in HK. Somehow cans this size seem more enormous than 22 oz bottles. Dark dark cola brown pour with light tan head that dissipates relatively quickly. Very slight lacing. Aroma is roasted chocolate old coffee grounds, some licorice. Sort of straightforward stout. Taste is similar but more sweet, flavor is like straightforward American stout - roasted slightly smoky. Some bitterness. But the name is so misleading. Body is actually very light. More than you’d expect for a big stout. It’s good, but not anything special about it I guess.

650ml bottle. Pours black with a big tan head. Aroma of dark malts, dark fruit, chocolate, liquorice. Taste of rich dark malts, quite sweet, dark fruits, toffee, molasses, chocolate, roasty and a nice bitterness, just a hint of booziness in this, it's really well integrated. Medium-full bodied, soft carbonation. Really nice impy stout.
