Last beer of the night on 27th Dec 2018, a shared 330ml bottle in The Coracle, ironbridge, Shropshire. Mean black body, no wisp for a head! How do you like your coffee? Rich and strong with alcohol and plenty of sweetener? Well your in then.

I spotted a 12 oz bottle at Total Wine in Ft. Worth over Black Friday. A cool November evening, good time to try. I use a Cowtown Brewing snifter picked up the same weekend. The pour is dark and attractive, very little head on this one. It smells pitchy with chocolate and bread. Finally a taste. Quite nice, I determine cocoa, plum, dark raisin, a touch of caramel, some interesting heat at the finish. A different take on imperial stouts. I firmly approve.

355ml bottle. Pours pitch black with a small dark brown head. Chocolate, deep cacao nib chocolate, coffee, cherry, plenty of red fruit, savoury capsicum without too much heat, toffee, coffee, chocolate, bit of booze. Good body. Excellent.

On tap at Fakin Craft Bar, Zagreb. Shared with Višnja 666. Dark brown to black, diminishing brown head. Spicy and roasty aroma, coffee, dark chocolate, light alcohol. Strong spices and light red fruit. Chocolate fruit cake. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, cappuccino, sweet. Balance is good. Not too sweet. Maybe not as rich. Silky and oily. Full body. Lasting finish. Some alcohol. By the book, nice profile, nit very rich.

Keg at Sori Taproom, Helsinki. Black with small beige head. Milk chocolate and bell pepper up front. Sweet with a mild tartness. Full bodied with rounded, somewhat oily mouthfeel. Vanilla and chocolate sauce, chilis. Signifikant chili heat.
