Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and minerally crisp. Thin malts, touch of bitter toffee. Savoury bitterness in the mid. Trace of dry cream. Mild marmalade. Little spice and mild aniseed. Finishes semi dry and with juicy peel. Mild bitter linger. Not bad at all and drinks under it’s abv, but lacks the malt backbone to make it great.

Bottle at End of History tasting. pretty amber pour with nise smell of dark fruits and candy. tastes of caramel, earth, biscuits, toast, prunes, and burnt sugar. sticky caramel palate and some alcohol.

Bottle shared by me at End of History tasting. Pours orange with tan head. Nose/taste of orange peel, florals, candi sugar, caramel and bready toffee. Medium body.

Sample at Standard Market. Amber IPA color, but clearer. Thin head in a ring around the edge. My taste was too small in the tiny glass to get much of a sniff. Taste is not as hoppy as, say, Bigfoot, Focused more on the crystal roast malts, which let the alcohol come in and warm me up.

Tap at APEX, PDX, 26/05/13. Clear chestnut brown with a thin light beige head. Nose is toffee fudge, brown sugars, caramel, dates, figs, hint of booze. Taste comprises sweet toffee, dark fruits, touch of booze, dates, prunes, dark sugars. Full bodied, fine carbonation, boozey sweet finish. Ok BW, alcohol well integrated, solid enough but no world beater.
