Big, bold, hoppy & gold... Built sturdy enough to withstand the Apocalypse, but delicate enough to sip and enjoy all night.

Pour is a hazy yellow with an average white head. Aroma is candi sugar sweet ness but with a equally nice herbal hop. Flavor is lemon citrus bitterness with some funk and more lemon peel. Finish has a bit of pepper and mouth drying malt. Alcohol is no where to be found and probably my only knock against this that it does not really need to be 9%. Still this is a good Belgian strong with a little something different with each sip.

Cloudy golden pour - moderate soapy lace - nose is quite tropical at first, with notes of pineapple, papaya, and citrus - this is followed by a more herbal hoppiness and white grape character - there are some very slight banana esters that get in the way of these other qualities a bit, but they are very mild - nice frothy carbonation in the mouth - tart, tangy, moderately bitter throughout, with some honey and citrus oil sweetness through the middle to balance - more tropical character in the form of pineapple - finishing bitterness and hop character brings flavors of white pepper, mint, herbs - medium dry, bitter finish - pretty nice - reminds me of a strong version of Crooked Stave Hop Savant.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy murky golden with a large foamy white head. Aroma brings lots of hops, lots of Belgian yeast, and some crackers. Flavour brings out loads of floral hops, Belgian yeast, and a touch of anise. Extremely well-rounded, with loads of floral hops and Belgian yeast dominating the palate. Alcohol is deceivingly well-hidden. Wonderful stuff.

Bottle, 12oz. It pours a dense, white head over a hazy, yellow-golden body. Lightly peppery aroma with pine cones and lemon peel. Pale malts and a faint brett touch too. The flavor has a nice bitterness, a little sweetness and all the yummy found in the aroma. Mostly dry on the palate, full to medium body and with a nice carbonation level. Lasting finish with a nice bitterness. Didn’t notice the alcohol until finishing the beer, that’s always a good sign. Yet another beauty from Stillwater. 130810
