IPA - Imperial / Double Regular

Our favorite double IPAs are all about citrus flavors, so with our Westbrook collaboration we wanted to pack as much grapefruity. hoppy goodness in there as possible to further bolster the hop profile. The addition of fresh grapefruit zest took the labor intensiveness of this beer another level, but we think it was worth it and hope you do too! Cheers! Scott, Rich, and the Westbrook Crew.

Keg at Craft Clapham. Light golden, small golden bubbly head. Aroma treacle hoppy, light cat pee hops, fruity. 650ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Vika, shared at a tasting session with Elisabeth, Stefan and Jan Erik. Unclear golden body to a steady, finger-thick white head leaving spotty lacing down the glass. Perfumed floral aroma. Mid-sweet flavours of peach, grapefruits and juicy malts. Citrus shells to the finish. Integrated alcohol. Quite alright, not outstanding in any way (Tårnrommet, Tromsø 15.12.2014).

Draught at Ølbaren, Copenhagen
Hazy deep blond color with creamy head, nice lace. The most prominent aroma is cereals; but that is also a sign of unfresh IPA. The malt flavor is nice, with moderate fruitiness and sweetness; it also has a decent hop character, fruity; light cereals.
It doesn’t appear to be at its prime.

Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours tiny hazy golden with a frothy and fluffy offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving some sticky lacing on the glass. Smell is malty and fruity with sweet white bread, crackers, alcohol, grapefruit juice, overripe tropical fruits, moist grass, pine needles, resinous wood and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter and fruity with sweet bread, crackers, moist grass, overripe tropical fruits, grapefruit juice, alcohol, orange zest, lemon zest and hints of honey. Mouthfeel is round, slightly astringent, tiny syrupy, tiny boozy and medium bodied. finish is sweet, bitter and fruity with white bread, crackers, grapefruit rinds, lemon zest, orange zest, alcohol, unripe tropical fruits, alcohol and hints of golden syrup. Old but holds up ok…
