A lovely imperial red. Was pleasantly surprised that this is not another \"Christmas cake\" seasonal ale. The well balanced, punchy hop and malt nose carries through to the taste profile. Fruity hops, resin, bready malt with a nice touch of rich caramel, hints of nutmeg and cloves all work together for a great winter beer.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up in the US about 10 years ago. As YuleSmith. Pours mostly clear, rich amber with a thick, creamy off-white head. Moderately sweet, lots of gooey pine, toasted malts, dried orange peel. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Sticky and resinous to finish, quite malty, loads of pine, dried and ripened citrus peel. Nice old school malt and hop bomb.

On tap at CBC, Clerkenwell on 18th October 2019. Russet copper with pale tan scantly lacing foam, shallow in depth. Spicy cherries and plums in an invitingly smooth fruity aroma. Rich and intense cherry, ginger, spice and soft fruits in-mouth, with a hot peppery note. Spicy, fruity finish. Velvet smooth on a full body. Absolutely superb.
