Botella de 33 cl en el momento el 30-01-2015 en el kraken. Color negro con espuma beige oscura poco persistente. Aromas y sabores a maltas tostadas con toques abundantes de cacaos y lactosas que la suavizan. Ligeras especias y amargo al final. Bastante buena con un cuerpo medio de 9.8 vol que le dan buena sensación alcohólica. Para repetir.

33 cl bottle marked Cat 5 and BB 8 OCT 2024, sampled on January 4, 2015. Thanks Ingo!Dark red to black color, dark brown head. Malty, grainy, light berry scent. Malty, berries, some alcohol, grainy taste. Grainy aftertaste. Warming alcohol. Medium to fizzy high CO2 to smooth mouthfeel, medium to medium low bitterness.

Black color with a medium beige head that quickly diminishes. Aroma has notes of roasted malts with some sweet hints. Flavor is roasty, licorice and coffee. Slightly bittery in the final with a creamy mouthfeel.

Clear dark brown beer, small irregular beige head, dissipates immediately, non adhesive. Aroma: dark chocolate, some banana, mocha, coffee, cocoa powder. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very roasted, bitter hops, cold coffee, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, caramel. Aftertaste: very bitter and hoppy, mocha, coffee, roasted, bit sugary, alcohol, hoppy, some banana.

Sample from 33 cl. bottle. Pitch black with a thin, lightly tanned head. Roasted aroma with dark malts, liquorice, coffee, chocolate and fruits. Taste is bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and bitter. Nice Stout.

Bottle picked up at CBB & served in my stout glass. 9.8% but the alcohol is well hidden. A luscious pour but it had a barely perceptible head of foam, most likely due to the oats whose oils can hinder head retention. Pure rich dark kakao, oats & some enticing savouriness. Medium bodied with a round carbonation. The taste is surprisingly bitter - dark chocolate(90% cacao), some roasted oats, some hits of umami, fruits & dark coffee. As it warms up the softness from the oats, a bit of biscuit and more dark fruits show up. Quite an interesting beer, a bit more intense in the dark malty flavors than I prefer, I like them a bit sweeter. Still for dark beer lovers this will hit the spot!

Bottle. Pours a black ruby color with a small fast disappearing off-white head. Has a roasted malty licorice and chocolate aroma. Roasted malty licorice and chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty licorice and chocolate finish.

Bottle purchased from Bacchinalia, Cambridge. Consumed in the comfort of my own home. Very dark drown and opaque. Almost no head at all, very flat. Lovely smell of rum, plum pudding, molasses, liquorice. Engaging, complex taste profile: a sweet plummy start followed by a mild bitterness. The finish is long and grainy espresso bitter/sour. The mouthfeel is quite thin for an imperial stout, and the lack of carbonation doesn’t help. Not the best imperial stout I’ve had, but still a great beer all things considered.
