Bottle picked up at Beer Gonzo, Coventry. It pours hazy pale gold with a medium white head. The nose is fresh cucumber, lettuce, starfruit, hay and light dough. The taste is fresh, cucumber, starfruit, touch of citrus, dough, light mint and salad with a dry, clean finish. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation and velvety mouth-feel. Clean, crisp, refreshing and well-balance. Definitely a beer that divides opinion, but I find it rather enjoyable!

750ml bottle. Cloudy golden colour with average to huge, frothy, diminishing, minimally lacing, white head. Aroma has lemon notes, hints of mint, a minimally peppery spicy touch of yeast. Taste is minimally soapy, notes of lemon, mint, late hints of cucumber; light body, slightly watery. Refreshing, light, not a bad composition, though it lacks some harmony.

Bottle at Birmingham Beer Bash as part of beer and cheese tasting with the brewers, light amber pour with fizzy white head, cucumber aroma, cucumber comes through big in the taste with a hint of mint and the saison yeast action of the base beer really refreshing summer drink.

Keg at The Bow Bar. Pours clear pale gold with a short white head. Bit fizzy and cold. Saison yeast and faint cucumber mint on the nose, opens up more as it warms up. Really interesting and refreshing. Finishes abrupt, but smooth.

Aroma: Mojito, mint and a hint of yeast.

Appearance: Hazy pale golden body with a thin white head. Lively carbonation. Light lacing marks.

Taste: Unusual flavours of tonic water, cucumber and a light yeast note typical of other Wild Beer offerings. Finish has hints of mint and basil

Palate: Thin body with a watery mouthfeel. Average carbonation.

Overall: A very worthwhile experiment. I’ve heard this goes well with gin - I’m sure it does because of its low ABV and tonic water qualities. I wouldn’t want to drink ore than a pint of this, so maybe it’s best as a mixer?

On tap (keg) at CBI, London on 21st July 2013. Hazy amber with white decaying head and spot lacing. Herbiness and mint in aroma. Citric/floral hops in mouth with strong cucumber scents, fruitiness and very subtle mintiness. Cool, lightly sweet cucumber aftertaste with floral hoppiness, all subsiding fairly quickly on a zingy mouthfeel and light body. Rated as a novelty beer.

Keg @ Head of Steam, Quayside, Newcastle [050917] 7/3/6/4/14 3.4
Nose of soft botanicals, quite spicy, lemon, good nose for abv. Taste of cucumber juice, soft spicy notes, getting the mint. Good palate for such a low abv. Yeah...it's a healthy veggie beer, interesting but no more than a half

Keg @ The Vintage, Leith [080713] 6/3/7/3/14 3.3
Amber golden, some haze, thin bubbly head
Aroma - Fresh slight vegetal (not awful though) - must be the cucumber, not much else
Taste - Cucumber, fairly peppery, water dripped from a green salad, it’s very cucumbery, light sweet pale malt background, slight cereals, maybe some lettuce in there too (!), didn’t really get the mint, overall rather strange, decent amount of flavour for the abv
Palate - Medium carb, light body. Finish as main flavour, some floral notes come through as well here
Overall - Not tried a beer like this at all - very unusual - it does work - it is rather salad vegetal. Not sure i’d want to drink a whole pint of it though but glad to have tried it
