Does not taste good. Not even a little bit.

Good, but somehow not as good as I remember when I had it last in Trinidad

Bottle shared at Scopey’s 5K tasting - London. Pours clear, red-brown with a creamy tan head. Sugary dark malt aroma. Syrupy flavor, with some bready malts, brown sugar, toffee and dark fruits. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sugary bread dominates the finish. OK.

New Beer Distributors, NYC ($2.25): Pours near black with a tan head that doesn’t leave much in the way of lacing. Aroma is chocolate and burnt sugar... not bad. Taste is pretty sweet. Reminds me a bit of cheap chocolate. Very low bitterness. Also, low carbonation that is actually a plus for this beer, as it makes it easier to drink.

Bottle. B&M. Clear, very dark red. Has a tan halo to begin with, which disappears completely. Some tarry, fudgy chocolate. Hint of coffee grinds. A little liquorice. Taste is sweet. A bit of powdery dryness. Decent mouthfeel. A bit of cola drink about it. Finishes very light bitter, with a slight tartness.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque black with a decent crema head. Nose - treacle with a slight tobacco note. Taste - chocolate nuts and burnt sugar. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - nice sweet stout.

275ml bottle from Beers of Europe. BBE July 2014. Aromas of treacle, dark sugar. Taste is coca cola. But not a bad thing necessarily.

Bottle from Tesco. Almost black without a head. Has a milky roasted malt aroma and taste but fairly average for its style. There’s a small sticky sweetness.

Bottle from Tesco for £1. Drunk at home. Black with a bluish-purplish tint, opaque. A brown head rises up quickly this dissipates. Aroma of caramel and molasses. Pleasant enough but it smells a bit artificial. Sickly sweet taste at first, like a mass-produced soda. Sweetness is then tempered by a bit of bitterness, but the sweetness comes back in the finish and aftertaste. Weak body. Not good.

Bottle at home from BM Bargains Watford. 89p special for a Barbados coutry tick. Aroma is woody, lactose sweet, damp, and toasted coconut. Rich mahogany brown deep red colour with a lasting thin tan head. Flavouir is composed of weird mix of sweet lactose sugars and tangy sharp roast. A little sickly sweetness. Again more toasted coconut. Finish is fairly high FG.
