Again, the basic old and young lambic are matured in oak casks. But here we add to one year-old lambic about 400 grams of real cherries per litre. This creates a second fermentation in the casks. Oude Kriek Boon then undergoes a further fermentation in the bottle and has an alcohol volume of 6.5%. After several months, the flavour has matured to the desired taste.
Oude Kriek Boon is a test of your patience. It should lie about 2 years in the bottle. At first, it tastes of fruit, especially sour cherries. Oude Kriek Boon eventually evolves into a deep taste reminiscent of Port or Madeira wine. This is kriek at its best.

Bonito color granate bajo una abundante y espesa corona de espuma rosácea. Aroma muy jugoso y natural a cerezas, con cierto fondo vinoso y de Barrica. En boca es vinosa, afrutada, ligeramente agria y dulce, contenida en acidez, seca. Para mi gusto bastante fácil de beber, la he disfrutado una barbaridad.

From tap at BeerTempel, Amsterdam. Aroma of tart cherries, lactic, yoghurt, oak, slightly sweet cherries, funk. Flavour is lightly sweet and moderate to medium sour. Body is medium. Much, much better than the regular Kriek.

Bottle vintage 2019, drunk after planting a Säulenapfel, blackberries, and an Orange Dream Japanese maple. Medium Red Like a Lambrusco, small head, sour cherry nose with some interesting funky notes. Medium carb, dry with a nice natural cherry aftertaste. Some very slight rubbery notes in the mid palate, not for the lambic novice. Good complexity and not overly acidic, I really like this one.
