6 pack, canned 8/31, drunk 9/14/17.
Clear, some chill haze, brassy-golden with warm amber hints and a frothy, white head showing moderate-to-strong retention.
Some juicy fruits perk up initially and it's quite promising as cherry, ruby red grapefruit and a strong peppery-spicy hop character all unfold. Maybe a bit of specialty malt underneath and certainly a good helping of base malt. But it doesn't harry the hops and the buoyant fruitiness persists to the finish where it's joined by some strong pine and grapefruit skin, unfortunately. Rather sharp with a bit of alcohol heat in there.
Straightforward pale malts provide honey and cracker and a moderately soft texture while brisk carbonation needs time to die down. Juicy fruit notes fight with strong citrus and moderate pine and bitterness is quite high. Reasonable attenuation, though growing a touch sweet on the finish. Lots of bitterness. A pretty decent West Coaster, though the pine/grapefruit/bitterness seems unbalanced to me.

Taster pour at the source. Appearance is golden yellow, no sparkle, mild head, nice lacing. Aroma is moderately strong fruit, citrus. Taste is fruit, malt bordering on double IPA territory. Palate is medium bodied with creamy texture, average carbonation with mix of sweet and bitter finish. Overall, a nice IPA with strong flavors and balance without getting overly bitter.

650 ml bottle without any kind of date coding. Amber color beer with lasting head retention. Aroma shows a lot of caramel malt and just a hint of herbal hops. I’m am not hopeful from the smell.
This has a huge caramel malt base that gives a sweetness that over-runs the hops. It doesn’t matter what variety of hops are used here because nothing can get through the layers of caramel malt. Entirely to sweet and also have an astringent finish. I really hope the Brewer reconsiders this recipe and reworks it. As it is this can’t hang with the big bold IPA’s that are found all over New England right now. Not being a snob, just speaking the truth.

Bottle thanks to Jcwattsrugger. Pours orange gold white head. Nose/taste of pine, citrus, resin and caramel malt - medium body.

Bottle from Bert’s Lightly hazy medium golden color with a frothy off white head that persists for a while. Citrus pine and bitter pith backed up by some faint bready caramel maltiness. The flavor is grapefruity citrus up front that segues into a hint of bready malt and comes back with some pith and aspirin harshness that lingers at the end of every sip. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Not a bad IPA.
