Pours dark brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, yeast and hint of christmas spices. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long warm, caramel and yeasty finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Dark brown with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have bittersweet roasted malts, caramel and strong dried fruit, especially figs. Finish is pleasantly dry which balances the initial sweetness well.

Leicht trübes, dunkel rötlich braun mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch röstig malzig süß, Kräuter, Gewürze. Geschmack röstmalzig, schokoladig. Leicht bitterer Abgang.

Bottle at 14th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering on 03/19/2011 courtesy of Butters. Clear dark amber body with a small creamy off-white head. Sharp fruit and astringency aroma. Sweet spice and dry astringent flavor. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Tap East. Keg. Hazy amber beer, tidy pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Good fine carbonation. Smooth and dry creamy.malt, little toffee, mild but rich and vibrant dried fruits. Very light touches of spice and cherry. Finishes dry with a carbonated nip. Well.joined up, fruity and drinkable.

Bottle from Dranken Pauwels Kortrijk. Very dark brown almost black beer with a thick dense beige head. Good strong malty aroma. Spices in the flavour. Some toasty roasty flavour and some light spice. Dry on the finish. Fine. Some dark choc. I like the malts but not that keen on the spice.

Bottle @ home with LeninCat picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Follins. 2013 vintage. Lenin is sure digging this. Pours a hazy, fairly cloudy brown appearance with a lasting tan head. Zippy, fruity yeasty, big cherry cola, light caramel, a bit tart aroma. Pretty full bodied. Caramel toffee, dark chocolate, cola, dark berry/cherry fruity, chewy yeasty flavor. Delicious. Lenin easily gives this five ticks out of five ticks. The crazy motherfucker licked the bottle so much that it warmed up and then became awfully aggressive with my glass of the beer.

Pours deep ruby-tinged mahogany into a snifter. Dark caramel and pit fruit aromas. Medium bodied with sweet dark pit fruit, fruitcake and caramel front to back. Lasting mildly bitter earth and distant banana finish.
