Although the process is complex, it brings impressive results: Fresh Hop is an American-style pale ale with moderate hop bitterness marked by a unique and intensely grassy hop flavor and aroma. Fresh Hop is a superbly refreshing, medium bodied, light-copper colored pale ale weighing in at 55 IBUs and 6.1% ABV.

Bottle. Light unclear medium amber color with a small, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, moderate to light heavy hoppy, grass, pine, grape, lemon. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (310108)

Bottle, 22oz. Pours a copper-golden color, with an off-white head. Malty aromas with a nice addition of piney and citrusy hops. The flavor is mostly on the hoppy side, with pine and citrus as well as bitterness. I like it, but it is maybe a bit one-dimentional. Stinging hop-bitterness in the mouth, full body. Even though there’s lots of hops in it, it ain’t very bitter, except the stinging feeling. A little bit more emphasis on the malts would be nice though. (080118)

650 ml bottle. Golden orange body with a dense white head. Aroma is strong, fresh hops, very distinct, a bit floral. Surprisingly mild flavor considering the hoppy aroma, refreshing, grassy and bitter. Quite nice.

Clear copper/amber with a big and lasting off-white head. Most awesome GD hoppy aroma. Grass, citrus, tobacco, and a little peach. Plenty of malt richness and sweetness, and a smooth velvet mouthfeel. Wonderful APA flavour and bitterness, with that perfect GD balance.

Nice clear golden coloured body with orange highlights and a thinnish dense off-white head. Aroma of fresh hops (of course), strong malt, pine cones and a grapefruit bitterness. Medium-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour up front that shows a good bitterness, followed by a good malt backbone. Aftertaste has plenty more bitter hop flavours and a very light sweetness of fresh apricots - followed by alcohol and malt. Overall, a good and fresh APA, not as best as the absolute best, but still up there as a really good ’harvest ale’ that should be reliable! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Vienna, Virginia on 02-December-2007.
