Brewery Het Anker decided to brew an easy drinkable city beer for the Mechelenians, still peppy enough in order to enjoy it to the fullest called Maneblusser. It’s a blond beer with an alcohol percentage of 5.8% vol. in which you can taste a subtle citrus aroma and a fine finish. Maneblusser is brewed according to the traditional method of high fermentation.

Bottle 33cl. @ DHVL Gardenparty and Beerfestival 2009.Clear medium yellow orange color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, moderate yeasty, soap, citrus, moderate to light heavy spicy, coriander. Flavor is moderate sweet, light citrus acidic and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090906]

On tap at 3rd Brugs BF. Hazy golden yellow colour, white head. Aroma is very hoppy (Golding), piny, leaves, ripe fruits, passionfruit. Flavour is sweet, candy, passionfruit, soapy hops, light grainy finish, bit of bread in there too. Light to medium bodied.

33 cL bottle at DHVL Gardenparty and Beerfestival 2009. Pours clear and golden yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is citrusy and coriander spiced, smooth. Citric and dry flavoured with a nice coriander spiced note. Light wheaty and lingering yeasty flavoured into a mellow finish.

Small white head, stable, over pale gold beer. Coriandersoup, disgustingly overpowering spicy nose, wether it is really there or not. Flat corianderflavour, hopelessly perfumed by yeastflavours. Light medium bodied, bit spritzy. As the ingredientlist speaks of no spices, the corianderflavour is probably due to some weird yeastcomponent, but that knowledge does not help it from being uninviting. As to the reason for this beer, I’m mystified.
