St. Bernardus Wit is a traditional unfiltered Belgian white beer. It was developed in collaboration with Pierre Celis, the legendary master brewer who founded the Hoegaarden brewery, brewing their signature beer that was the driver of the resurgence of white beer in the 1950s. St. Bernardus Wit looks distinguished and classic with its attractive, golden-yellow colour hidden under a subtle veil – it epitomises the authentic Belgian cloudy white beer.

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: cloudy yellow color with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: sweet wheat with some herbal to floral tones and an underlying funk in there then notes of lemon and orange pulp and some clove
Flavor: pretty much mirrors the aromas to a fine sweet to yeasty spicy vibe; finishes leaning into the clove, the floral tones and sweet wheat in a smooth yet semi-creamy sort of way
Texture: medium bodied, sessionable; and with the smooth to semi-creamy toned quality along the tongue with just enough clove to level down the cream
Overall: to any American brewers possibly reading this, this beer, my friends is what you call a Belgian witbier.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%. Slightly hazy and pale straw colour, huge to large white head. Classical witbier aroma of wheat, orange peel and coriander seeds, also hints of other mild spices in the yeasty notes. Citric mouthfeel. The medium dry and crisp flavour has the same elements as the aroma, low but noticeable bitterness with peppery notes.

Bottle. Wheat malt aroma with notes of orange citrus, coriander, lemon and clove. Pours cloudy pale golden colored with a large soapy white head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with wheat malt, orange and clove flavors. Finishes smooth and refreshing though a touch dry with lemon and coriander flavors. Excellent wit.

Bottle at Hops, Crewe. Pours a hazy lemon yellow with a small frothy white head and good lacing. The aroma has spices, coriander and yeast. In the mouth it is quite sharp but with some sweetness in the creamy body. Wheat is the dominant flavour with healthy contributions too from banana, yeast and spices with hints of bubblegum and cherries coming later. Sharpness lasts into a quite spicy finish. This is a top quality witbier.

Bottle. A pretty decent witte but not to awesome, a little bit too much bitterness without enough flavor? Or something to that effect.

bottle: Golden color, nice and cloudy. huge white head. Perfect balance between alted wheat and corriander. Great citrus notes, some soft bready, yeast too. Full mouth feel, soft carb. No bitterness, a touch of metal in the finish, with the corriander rounding it out. The wheat flavour and aroma are way more upfront that other beers in this style, really nice.
