Our Chestnut Ale is a true reflection of the fall. We’ve blended robust caramel and crystal malts to give the brew deep brown amber hues, for an almost warming appearance. But it’s the roasted chestnuts that impart a unique and bold nutty character, complemented by a light level of hops, for a clean but crisp finish. Here’s to fresh air, autumn colours, and fall hikes on our favourite trail.

A well-made maple chesnut beer. Clean and nothing off, just a little sweet and one dimensional. But a very cleanly fermented beer. Sk lb variety pack

Clear copper body and little foam, sweet fake chestnut syrup on the nose. Flavour is just a pile of cloying chestnut syrup blended into overcarbonated soda water. The fakest of fake beers.

Too much maple and lots of chestnut. Pours clear mahogany with decent head. Very sweet end like breakup sex. Tap at Samesun.

Bottle. Pours a clear brown with light head. Sweet chocolate, thin watery nut flavor and cardboard. Not offensive - just not much.

330 ml bottle. Pours a clear, red amber with an average, beige head that laces. Sweet and artificial aroma of vanilla, nuts and caramel. Syrupy sweet and artificial flavour of vanilla, nuts, caramel and roasted malt with a mildly bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Novelty or gimmick beer. Too sweet and syrupy for me.

Draft - Crazy sweet hazelnuts and vanilla. Smells artificially sweetened and flavored. Clear copper with a decent head. Tastes the same. Good if you don’t like beer.

On tap at Tap & Barrel Coal Harbour, pours a hazy dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out loads of chestnuts and hazelnuts - smells rather artificial though. Flavour is the same, with syrupy hazelnuts. Doesn't taste like a beer, just a syrupy alcoholized carbonated beverage of some sort. Gimmick "beer" for non-beer lovers.

Draught at Malone’s Urban Drinkery, Vancouver
Dark amber color, with thin head. Buttery hazelnut aroma. Ordinary amber, with walnut oil and, I presume, walnut artificial flavor; ordinary bitterness, some of it comes from the roasted malts. Not disgusting, but fake, like a muffin at Starbucks.
