This crisp golden ale is built on the foundation of delicate light malts. This allows us to showcase some of the most interesting and effervescent American hops in a way we have never before done. We saved over 75% of the hops used in this recipe to add after the batch was boiled, allowing the distinct fragrance of grapefruit, apricot and pine to be preserved as much as possible in the finished beer. With a crisp, but subtle bitterness, a refreshingly light malt character, and a 4.5 ABV, this is the perfect warm weather beverage for those who think flavor is just as important as refreshment.

Bottle. Golden body. Frothy, white head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma of citrus, pine, lemon, toasted grain, resin. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Thin, but plenty of hop flavors of citrus, pine and lemon.

Rare beer from a bottle. Metallic piney aroma. Slight haze on a lighter yellah beer. Good co2 from the start. Probably in ipa territory. That sizzle keeps it interesting. Chewing on green grapefruit rind finish. Not bad for a bitter hop beer. Yes, that bitterness really lingers toward the end.

bottle - Pours a cloudy straw color and smells mainly of citrus hops. It tastes moderately bitter, or more, and has a mild, light bodied malt profile. The hops bitterness lingers in this easy drinking beer. Itβs alright.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled in 5/2013. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden straw color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice rings of soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, apricot, floral, grass, herbal, bread, cracker, light honey, and floral earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of bright hop and malt notes; with decent strength. Taste of big grapefruit, orange peel, lemon zest, orange rind, floral, grass, pine, bread, cracker, light honey, and floral earthiness. Good amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, orange/lemon zest, orange rind, floral, grass, pine, bread, cracker, light honey, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice bright hop flavor balance with a light-moderate malt balance; with minimal cloying bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a smooth, crisp, and sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a very good hoppy blonde ale. Good complexity of hop flavors with moderate malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Sample at Pint House during a tap takeover. Cloudy dark golden color with a medium foamy white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of floral hops and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of grassy hops, toasted malt and citrus. The finish is mildly bitter with a hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

12oz bottle courtesy of Anndiesel. Hazy yellow-tan. Massive, frothy, steady white head. Grassy sweet hop aroma, dry, a hint grainy. Has a real classic feel, but also has that nice citrus edged new school hop edge. Itβs pretty awesome to see brewers nailing and perfecting Pale Ales. Clean, fresh medium body. Slight tropical, lemony undercurrents. Really well done, very enjoyable.
