Grapefruit Jungle is a west coast-style I.P.A. Aptly named for the rich grapefruit characteristics of the three hops used to create it, Grapefruit Jungle is bursting with hop flavor and aroma. With the equivalent of one pound of hops in every keg, Grapefruit Jungle is a hop lover’s dream!

16 oz can poured, picked up at Hop and Hound. Listed as GFJ IPA. Not sure how these cans made their way out to Seattle, but glad they did. Glowing clean copper orange appearance, a rocky foam head. Love grapefruit focused west coast IPAs, and this one nails it pretty good. Lots of juicy grapefruit and mixed citrus. Some lighter biscuit like malt underneath. Very nice brew here.

16 ounce can. Amber orange pour topped by a larger foamy beige head. Fragrant citrus hop aroma hints at grapefruit, as advertised. Dank bitter hop flavor upfront. A touch of toasted malt as well. Notes of cedar, more grapefruit and dried apricot. Very West Coast.

Deep copper and light bronze coloured body with a thick, three to four centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of light resinous hops with some tropical fruits and more of a floral and grassy finish, all with some nutty, earthy and more pungent and English-style malt characteristics, which somehow overpower the hops. Medium-bodied; Strong nutty and malty flavours dominate up front with a grassy finish that shows some tropical bite from the fruits and finishes with a light astringent and bitter flavour from the hops. Aftertaste shows some of the bitter malt notes with a dash of caramelised sugars, but some solid tropical fruit notes that provide a good balance throughout. Overall, an enjoyable beer with a good balance of hops and more pungent malty components that show some grassy and especially caramelised and earthy flavours that go well with the tropical fruit hops that do show through. I sampled this pint-sized, sixteen ounce can, purchased from The Beer Store in Franklin Mills (Philadelphia), Pennsylvania on 05-October-2019 for US$5,99 sampled at home in Washington after running the USMC Marathon on 24-October-2019, right here next to the starting/finishing line in Washington.

Draft - Grapefruit peel and caramel. Clear gold with a light beige head. Bitter peel with some sweetness and a long finish. Lots of grapefruit peel, but not very juicy.

16 oz. can thanks Queenholly! Pour is a amber gold color with thick lasting head and sheets of lace. Nose is big on Grapefruit (go figure) pine needles and traces of caramel. Flavor starts with pine cone, mango, candi sugar rounded out with a nice grapefruit kick. Light on the palate with lots of juicy hops. I wish I could sample this on draft, real solid brew. I drained the can with ease.

Can thanks to Josh! Pours a near clear amber orange with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has sweet citrus with some bitter grapefruit and a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has a nice start of citrus that grows into bitter grapefruit and has a sweet grain backbone.

Can. Grapefruity hops and light biscuity caramel malt aroma. Clear copper with a large ivory head. Grapefruit and piney hops, citrus peel, and light malty flavor. Medium body and carbonation. I guess I just don’t get the hype on this one. To me, it tastes like just another solid, but predictable IPA.
