I don’t want to waste my energy trying to describe a beer, which was one of the worst i’ve tried, in a beautiful (rate)-beer weekend in Antwerp. I just don’t like pineapple.

Bottle: Poured a chemical-like yellow color beer with no head and faint carbonation. Aroma of fake pineapple is all over this. Taste is entirely covered by the pineapple syrup and leave little place to lambic. Can’t really say I care for this one but boy am I curious to taste the unblended lambic from De Troch.

Hazy faded golden lambic with a thin white head. Smells like a pineapple lollipop, rather chemical in nature. In mouth, sickly sweet dentist room pineapple chloride teeth whitener, with some saving grace, the light tartness and faint horseblanket final.

(Bottle 25 cl) Only 1,5% ABV in my version. So far I haven’t really been all too impressed by the sticky, sweet De Troch fruit beers. But no rules without an exception. And actually this pineapple-beer is rather refreshing although I seriously doubt that the flavours are completely authentic. But don’t consider this a beer. rather a softdrink for hot summer days. 260498

Golden clear fluid with a vague pinkish and greenish shine; thin, pinkish head. Weird nose - sweet like lokoum or such thing, or something to spray on a Christmas tree; soapy, and maybe even a bit fruity. Well - fruit as reinvented by Proctor & G. Fruity-sweets taste. Pineapple ester, a soft gum flavoured with pineapple. And once more, I must think of Christmas decoration. Light, very slight sourish edge, not tart. Artificially sweetened & fruitened concoction. Childrens’ drink? Not MY children, anyway.

Pineapple and passion fruit dominate the aroma. Orange with sediment. Sweet, light pineapple and other fruit flavors. Light; good for sipping. I know this isn’t the way lambic should be, but I like it anyway.

Bright golden body. White fizzy head, instantly diminishing. Very strong pinapple flavour, hints of real lambic. Tastes like pineapple-juice. Just another (bad) Chapeau Lambic-sirupe combination.

A hazy orange beer with a small disappearing head. The aroma is sour with notes of wood and sweet malt and only hints of pineapple - a very promising aroma for a Chapeau. But the good promises from the aroma is destroyed by tasting it, because the flavor is way too sweet and dominated totally by pineapple - it tastes like a pineapple sodapop - since the carbonization prickles the tongue.

Blonde with lasting white head. Faint pineapple nose. Pineapple in flavor is very vinegary

Orange coloured. Super sweet. A perfect clone of the artificial pineapple juice I used to drink when I was younger.
