Bottle shared by Yaniv, thanks! Pours a hazy deep red with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has tart berry and barrel with a hint of grain underlying. Flavor has sour berries with a bit of funk, acid and barrel supporting.

Bottle thanks to John. Pours a hazy dark ruby with medium pinkish head that lasts. The aroma is berry, oak, lemon. Thin body, acidic, blueberry, lemon, light oak, very good.

Draught at Trillium, Roslindale, 2/1/18.
Pale, pinkish-lavender, low haze and no head.
Soft, mushy blueberry pulp and skin with vanilla-honey-like malt and oak trailing. Rather light and though blueberry is usually one of the least expressive fruits in beer, I'd execpt more boysenberry here. That said, it's not overdone in any one area and the relative maltiness here is much-appreciated.
In the mouth there's an almost floral, lavender-blueberry character with a soft, somewhat malty texture. Lots of pepper and tannin again with light, tart Brett and lactic acidity joining the finish. Probably the best texture of the beers I tried this night, but still could use more depth. Engaging carbonation with no alcohol or flaw.

On draft at Caps & Taps. It pours a red/purple color with a small pinkish head. The aroma has big tart blueberries. Lighter sweet notes of blueberry muffin. Hints of woody, coconut funk. The flavor is thick with blueberies. Very sour, but it actually has dialed back acidity compared to most of their other beers. The strong acid actually works with the balancing fruity sweetness. Massive fruit character. Just a bit of funk in the finish. Maybe the best beer I’ve had from Rare Barrel.

Tasting at Matt’s; 6.2% ABV
Dark ruby color. In the aroma, berries and fart, sour, lemon, wood. The flavor has some berry juice, dry and tart, the mouthfeel is abrasive, extremely acidic, astringent in the final.
Beer with no grace; berry juice and extreme acidity, no complexity.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark purple-ish pink with a small pink-tinged beige head. Aroma is very pithy, with lightly sweet, juicy red berries and a little blueberry, with a touch of oak. Flavour is along the same lines, with tart boysenberries, lightly acidic (for Rare Barrel), and juicy fruitiness on the finish. Not very complex, but there's a nice tart juicy fruitiness to it. Good stuff.

Pours looking like blood, but it’s actually more like purple-red. No head. Stinging acidity...some sweetness and brett under there. So this one actually has some balance. Light, though indistinct, berryish taste. Good beer, but well-balanced by this brewery’s standard isn’t so balanced overall.

On tap at the brewery. Aroma is very berry forward and somewhat one dimensional with lots of blueberry and boysenberry. Some light acidity and citrus notes. Faint oak. Very jammy. Pours a very murky, pale purple red color with a faint, thin, pinkish head that recedes quickly to the edges where it lingers. No lacing or legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with moderate acidity. Acidity is slightly sharp, but not too bad. Light citrus and pineapple notes with the acidity. Faint oak. Lots of berry character. It’s a bit overpowering with how much berry there is. Very jammy. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium low to low carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent beer but I think it’s a bit one dimensional. Nice berry notes, but it just seems to overwhelm everything else. The acidity is a bit sharp too. Seems a bit undercarbed as well.
