1991 bottle thanks to Gibson. Pours a hazy orange gold with no head. The aroma is strong funk, rubber, wood. Medium body, funky, wood, apple, tart, held up very well, really glad I got to try this.

This bottle acquired in a trade appears to be from 1992. 37.5CL with 91-93 on the label but none of them scratched to indicate the year. Served in a Gueuze Tumblr @ 45 Degrees F.

A - Ultra cloudy, just a murky burnt gold color. Cork had a small whisp of carbonation but no head formed.

S - The nose is not overwhelming but it smells very sour, lots of lemon, lime, maybe some cherry cola, coconut and balsamic vinegar.

T - Oh yeah, this is a total sour bomb! Insanely sour like it’s hurting my tongue but it has a lot of depth. A lot of flavor going on, nice lemon and sour dough bread and skittles.

M - Pretty much completely flat

O - Really enjoyed trying this. I have a 75CL as well but given I’m drinking this with just 1 other person, I’m glad it was enjoyed in the smaller format first.

1990 vintage bottle shared at DHVL. Pours clear dark golden with a small bubbly off white head. Aroma of mouldy dank cellar, big cobwebs, citrus, still a little fruity. Flavour is moderate acidic going into a heavy acidic finish. Very dry in the palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle courtesy of Magnus (non-RB). Best before 1994 but not sure on the actual vintage. Smell is slightly sour and slightly funky with crackers, leather, hay, dry soil, lemon peal, barnyard, prunes, horse blanket, codwebs and hints of cardboard. Taste is tiny sweet, tiny sour, tiny malty and tiny fruity with crackers, hay, lemon zest, barnyard, leather, cardboard, white raisins, dry soil, horse blanket, codwebs and hints of wine gums. Mouthfeel is slightly dry, slightly tart, flat and light bodied. Finish is tiny sour with crackers, lemon juice, hay, dry soil, leather, cardboard, barnyard, horse blanket and lemon zest. Pretty oxidized but still interesting, intriguing and tastes quite good.

Vintage at De Kulminator. Continued for a while by Belle-Vue for its good reputation, after De Neve stopped their activities in 1994. Orangey blonde colour, loose, off-white head. Fruity and yeasty aroma, sourish but not as assertive as usual for a traditional geuze, which I guess is logical as this was the filtered version; same for the taste, which had all lambic features but in a kind of restrained way, even a sweetish touch. Not bad as a stepping stone geuze to get to know the style - had it still existed, that is.

Vintage 1991. Hazy amber colour, medium carbonation. Very complex aroma of sour apples, citrus and some light sweet hints. Very good for the age.

Flaska @Akkurat. Provad årgång, troligen enligt Akkurat, 1991. Bärnstensfärgad med total avsaknad av kolsyra. Nada skumkrona. Lite som att hälla upp en pommac/champis. Det den saknade i kolsyra vägdes upp i smak dock. Knuten doft med tydligt inslag av russin. Hade förväntad en torrare smak men den har drag av madeira. Annorlunda!
