Silent Disco brings the dank from kettle to glass. A little more aggressive than Citrus and a little more complex, “Disco” can make any party something to remember. Showcasing more pungent, earthy and herbal hop varieties balanced by a great tropical aroma and flavors of ripe berries.

Got in a trade from spelingchampeon. 16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 5/22/2018. Pours opaquely hazy golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/rind, light pepper/pine, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey/caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, pine, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey/caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey/caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance; and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that us great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.8%. Overall this is an awesome NEIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Nicely soft mouthfeel, a bit more drying than usual for the style. Feels like Amarillo, Simcoe, Galaxy, and Mosaic hops. Really juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, but not overly sweet/heavy feeling from lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

Draft at J&J Deli, Draft and Bottle Shop, 6/9/17. Hazy orange. Juicy hop aroma. Maybe a bit too sweet, but otherwise quite tasty.

Growler from Super BuyRite in Hamilton, NJ. Hazy yellow gold color topped by a foamy white head with spotty lacing. Fragrant citrus hop nose is redolent of tropical fruit and peach nectar. First sip yields bittersweet, juicy, fruity hop notes. Light pale malt backbone supports the onslaught of complex fruity hops. Some peppery bitterness in finish. A touch of vanilla and piney hops finish this IPA nicely.
