Number four in our stout series, this beer is brewed with all malted barley and hardwood smoked malt. Aromas of smoked chocolate and coffee leave way to a full-bodied stout with a smokey finish. Fore is a house favorite among our brewers.

From notes, consumed on 5/25/13. Bottle poured into a Belgian snifter. Pours jet black with half a finger of tan head that fades quickly. Aromas of light smoke and roast, dark fruit, coffee, chocolate, caramel. Tasting notes of coffee, chocolate, tobacco, medium smoke, light caramel. Oily, syrupy mouthfeel with a medium body and semi-dry smoky finish.

355ml bottle, 7 % abv, from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. Motor oily pour revealing a tight, brownish head and a deep, near-black coloured body. Poor lacing. Inviting smell of dark chocolate malts, mid-sweet and gently roasted. Mocha taste with a little scent of smoked malts and cocoa powder as well as hints of dark fruits. Nice and lingering malt bitter finish. Fine bodied and smooth on the swallow. Sits right (Tromsø, 12.10.2013).

A black beer with an almost medium and beautiful, brown head. The nose is strongly roasted, pleasant chocolate, black coffee, some sewer. Taste is strongly roasted, liquirice and strong coffee. Some smoke in the end. Almost full bodied, low carbonation, smooth to drink. Quite roasted and only slightly smoky, the smooth and enjoyable beer.

almost black colour, minimal brown head;aroma of dried fruits, grape, some coffee, smoky notes and hints of alcohol; taste of burnt bitterness (mainly coffee) with smoke, maybe some minimal fruit - seems more like a simple stout than a smoked beer.

30.06.2013, 0,35l bottle @ NY hotel room:
Big brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich and sweet, dark malts, salty licorice, soy sauce, coffee, grass, burnt caramel, chocolate. Taste is mild and balanced, dark malts, coffee, raw licorice, grass, burnt caramel, ashtray. Medium bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel, thin body. Nice, but with a thicker body this would be really nice.
