Bucanero Fuerte gets its name from old legends of the pirates that roamed the Caribbean Sea. Considering that Bucanero Fuerte is one of the best hidden treasures of Cuban beer, this connection is fitting. Strong and full-flavored, Bucanero Fuerte is made from the most natural and freshest ingredients, with superior malt and is blended with just a touch of Cuba’s finest sugars. Having more alcohol, a deeper amber color, and a refreshing taste makes Bucanero Fuerte a remarkably 100% original Cuban beer. Over the years Bucanero Fuerte has become a favorite amongst Cubans as a beer to drink with friends while playing domino’s or watching a baseball game. It is quickly proving itself to be a timeless classic. Bucanero brings the mystery and passion of Cuba in a golden beer, with a vigourous and robust flavour. Our ancient and secret production process combines the finest selection of hops, water and malt. Ingredients: water, barley malt, brown sugar, hops.

330ml bottle as Cubanero Fuerte. Pours clear gold, good white head. Aroma is grassy, light caramel malt. Taste is smooth, light, good balance, no real off-flavours, some mild caramel brown sugar hints. Quite harmless and surprisingly drinkable.

As Cubanero Fuerte. Clear gold with a white head. Aroma is malty and slightly toasty with hints of floral and peppery hops. Thinner than suggested by the aroma and really a bit light on for well over 5%. Toasty turns out to be more bland and sugary. Modest bitter finish is very slightly spicy. Not much else to it, although it’s pretty clean. A bit of a let down after the decent aroma.

350ml bottle as Cubanero Fuerte. Golden colour with thin dissipating head. Weak aroma of pale malts, light sweetness. Taste is weak, malty, light citrus, light bitterness. Typical lager. It’ll do for the country rate though.

Poured from 355mL can [bb 27/11/2016]. Clear golden yellow with white head. Aroma of corn malt. Taste of corn malt with some very subtle hops, flavour dissipates quickly and is a bit watery.
