Dark ruby ale with subtle coffee and chocolate flavours and a rich, hoppy aroma. Roasted berry and caramel characters sink deep into a fantastic bitter finish.

Bottle, courtesy of Papsoe. A clear, dark amber beer with a nice, creamy, fingerthick beige head leaving lacings. Some roasted aromas and a touch of dried fruits. Sweet flavor with a malty domination. Very low on hoppy flavors. Medium to full body. Boring, but sure drinkable. 100814

(Cask at Bricklayer Arms, London) This is somewhere close to stout or porter. I’d exept this to be blacker but the beer was just very dark brown. Aroma with its molasses was closer to bock than stout. Flavour was good: malts, chocolate, mild roastedness and medium bitterness with roasty and bitter finish. Quite nice very roasty brown ale.
