Adnams’ interpretation of an American IPA, made with wheat and pale ale malts alongside hops from England, Slovenia and America (specifically Boadicea, Columbus and Stryian Goldings). It was created under the instruction of company chairman Jonathan Adnams, who simply requested, ‘Brew something to wow me’. It was originally intended as a limited edition release to commemorate the opening of Adnams’ new brewhouse and distribution centre, and now forms part of the core range.

Tap at Birreria di Città Alta, Bergamo, Italy. Pours brilliant blonde, fully transparent with fine white foam. Aroma is citrus, earthy, but also giving a little bit the impression of a not-so-clean line. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is medium bitter. Final is average.

Bottiglia. Il gusto al naso è indirizzato verso il luppolo. L'olfatto viene stimolato in maniera elevata e l'esistenza olfattiva è sufficiente. Il cappello di schiuma resiste abbastanza. La grandezza delle bollicine è media. Il liquido è di aspetto cristallino. Bollicine medio-fini costituiscono la forma della frizzantezza, con carbonazione persistente. Il colore è giallo dorato carico. Il corpo è strutturato. L'amaro è intenso.. La forza gustativa è elevata e permane in maniera sufficiente. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano luppolate. Il retrogusto è intenso. Al gusto vengono donati toni di miele, liquirizia, frutta secca, luppolo, un accenno di resinoso, agrumi, pompelmo e camomilla.

Bottle from a local supermarket. Malty aroma with floral hops, perfume, caramel toffee, apples, soft fruits. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Body is medium. Hmmm, not very tasty, quite malty with floral perfumed hops and an overall filtered to death macro character. Pretty useless as an IPA.

0,33 l bottle. Pours deep golden with small white head. Aroma is quite subdued, mostly hoppy notes of citrus, pine, a bit of caramel. Flavor follows aroma, but it's actually stronger and pleasant. Taste is medium sweet and rather low bitter. Finish is medium long, citruses and pleasant bitterness. Decent.
