330ml bottle. Clear, darkest brown colour with ruby glimmer and small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Toasty, dark malty aroma, hints of dark bread, a cautious touch of honey and thyme, minimally smoky-ashy overtones. Taste is minimally dry and minimally sweet, toasty dark malty, slightly bready and grainy, almost a bit smoky and chocolately hints of dark bread, cautious fruity overtones with a touch of dark berries. Not overly intense - though getting better while warming up.

Cask at Grog & Gruel, Fort William, small stable creamy head, quite opaque dark brown color with just a reddish hue, aroma of dark bread with butterscotch, mellow roastiness and a vanila sensation in the back, dark bread and vanila flavor with a hint of toastiness and a mellow light bitterness. Really nice and highly enjoyable.

Cask. Black pour. Aroma of licorice, chocolate and caramel. Taste has sweet licorice, chocolate, mocha and coffee. Not bad, but too much licorice for me.

Bottle. Pours nearly black, copper glow. Small white head fades within a second. Smell is rich in dark fruityness. Taste is sharp, bit bitter, dades, minor notes of dark chocolate. Mild oxidation notes ( not sure how old the bottle is ) rather thin in MF, but that is to be expected with this ABV. Ok beer in general. Not shockingly good , like the BA was.

Cask at the Forth Inn in Aberfoyle. Brown, almost black color. A very good beer. Chocolate taste, very good aftertaste. Very fine, since the low abv (4,6%).
