Our Grand Prestige, brewed with four different malts, is also described as barley wine. In the ripe, full taste, bitter and sweet are remarkably well-distinguishable. The taste of Hertog Jan Grand Prestige is appreciated by connoisseurs and enthusiasts far beyond our borders, as proven by, among other things, the golden awards at various renowned beer competitions. As Grand Prestige is stored for longer, that wonderful taste develops even further. After a few years, the taste is reminiscent of a beautiful old port wine.

Dark brown to ruby colored, medium beige head, not very lasting. Aroma is of caramel, brown sugar, bit fruits, some spices and Belgian Yeast. Taste is medium+ sweet brown sugar and toffee, some spices, yeast, light fruits, quite strong alcohol. Medium to full bodied, soft-average carbonation, creamy. Nothing spectacular and way too boozy. (bottle, V-Lazer supermarket, Vladivostok)

Bottle 500 ml. Dark ruby color with creamy foam. Aroma: sweet malts, caramel, wine, a little corn, esters. Taste: porto, malt, caramel, toffee, light sweetness, a bit of raisins and dried fruit. Not bad, but Belgians do it better.

dark reddish-brown colour, one inch of creamy beige head; aroma of raisins, figs, licorice, honey, vanilla notes and some liqueur; taste is the same with roasted sugary bittersweetness; correct quadrupel, though not a masterpiece of the category

At Dean’s. Bottle from 2007! Dark brown with offwhite head. Sweet caramel malts, rye, dades, almost vanilla. Very smooth and soft. Quite nice! At Maakun’s. Erg alcoholisch marsepein chipolata griesmeel bier. Alle genoemde associates hebben meer smaak dan dit. Kauwgomballen kleurstof suikerfeest.
