Bear has all the characteristics of a classic English Brown Ale with a distinct American twist. It pours a nearly opaque dark brown with a sticky caramel colored head. Aromas of toffee, caramel, chocolate, and earthy hops prep the palate for the flavor to come. We taste toffee, brown bread, caramel candy, varied nuttiness, and a melange of dark fruit. The earthy hops dance throughout and are balanced beautifully by a brown sugar sweetness. Delicious!

16oz can. Dry and malty. Chewy. Some toffee. Dark brown, khaki head. Really nicely balanced and crazy easy to drink. Finishes fuller than you'd think. 8 4 8 5 14

Pours a very dark brown from a can, pale head dissipates quickly. Color is like a porter. Faint well-toasted nutty aroma, a faint chocolate/coffee flavor. Kind of wish there was something more. Good beer.

Pours cola into a shaker. Mocha head with excellent retention recedes leaving no lacing. Dark caramel and chocolate aromas. Soft with dark chocolate, pumpernickel toast, and licorice upfront turning to earthy mocha in the medium length finish.

Can (big thanks to Ken) shared at home - pours very dark brown with a beige head. Roasted and toasted malty, some cocoa and caramel notes, touch of brown sugar, nutty accents, hoppy undertones, medium to light body, roasted malty finish. Solid brown ale.
