Cask, half pint. Tasted on the 27/01/2018 at "Manchester Camra Beer and Cider Festival". Black colour with a nice beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and black chocolate. Taste is the same, intense roasty and chocolate with some berries. Dry finish. Next one please!

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a dark mahogany with a thin off white head. The aroma is a little earthy peat leading to a medium bitter flavour with roasted malt, a little liqourice and weak coffee on the palate. It’s a little watery, but quite refreshing.

Bottle shared thanks to Jmgreenuk. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt. Lots of roasty malt. Flavour is light moderate sweet and bitter, and full of roast. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation, and a fair bit of roast. Roasty!

Black with a thick creamy head. There’s plenty of roasted malts in both aroma and taste but contained within a mild body.

Cask-conditioned at the Cheshire Beeriodical, Seven Stars, Bristol October 2012. Near black with a decent, off-white head. Aroma of dark fruits and coffee. Flavour had more fruit, a touch of chocolate and dryish finish. Very good.
