Dark brown-red (EBC 80). A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head.
Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Surprised I haven't scooped this one before. It pours hazy deep/dark brown with a khaki head. The aroma is fragrant, bruised banana, banana bread, fruit loaf, cola, malt loaf, liquorice allsorts, herbal and damp grass. The taste is bitter - sweet, toasty, roasted malts, slightly sharp, prickly booze, over ripe banana, banana bread, umami, liquorice, cacao nibs, cola, warming spice, clove, also herbal vibes, fernet branca and cocktail bitters with a slightly charred finale. Fulsome body and highish, foamy carbonation. Alright.

Surprised I haven't rated this, though it rarely shows up in Ontario. But it has, bottle from the LCBO. Taste is rich, middlingly sweet, roasted malts. Some dried stone fruit, a little spice with a touch of bitterness in the finish to give.it balance. Tasty.

Deep brick red with a medium size tan head. Big red berry, fresh fruits, caramelized sugars, chocolate, light yeast spice, malt, a hint of black pepper. Medium bodied. Finishes sweet with some light spice. Respectable.

Pint can. Caramel malt aroma with notes of chocolate, roasted malt, licorice, coriander and spicy Belgian yeast. Pours reddish-brown with half a finger of tan head that has good retention and excellent lacing. Starts with caramel malt, chocolate and licorice flavors. Finishes quite smooth with roasted malt, coriander and spicy Belgian yeast flavors. Excellent Belgian.

Dark chestnut brown with nice tan head. Cherry, raisin, chocolate malt, yeast, and grass aroma. Moderately sweet dried fruit (raisin, prune, cherry), chocolate malt, and moderately bitter grass/fresh hay flavor. Good body.

From a 330ml bottle on 16/9/2025. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a big head. The nose is yeasty and fruity in a typically Belgian manner. Tastes of dark and dried fruit, with more yeastiness. Not overly sweet with a lightly spicy bitterness, with the barest hint of sour at the back. The palate is a touch syrupy with the carbonation lively. Okay, but there are plenty of much better dark Belgians out there.
