Dark brown-red (EBC 80). A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head.
Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.

Dark chestnut brown with nice tan head. Cherry, raisin, chocolate malt, yeast, and grass aroma. Moderately sweet dried fruit (raisin, prune, cherry), chocolate malt, and moderately bitter grass/fresh hay flavor. Good body.

From a 330ml bottle on 16/9/2025. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a big head. The nose is yeasty and fruity in a typically Belgian manner. Tastes of dark and dried fruit, with more yeastiness. Not overly sweet with a lightly spicy bitterness, with the barest hint of sour at the back. The palate is a touch syrupy with the carbonation lively. Okay, but there are plenty of much better dark Belgians out there.

Bottled. Dark and cloudy with a long lasting head. Aroma is yeastish, flavor is very fruity. Very carbonated too.

Bottle at home. Pours deep brown with everlasting off-white head. Nose is quite moderate altogether, showing grains, faint earthy notes, the classic Belgian yeasty-flowery character. Tastewise it's somewhat better, has the same notes but definitely stronger than in aroma. Closes with long, sweet and a bit boozy finish, has light to medium body and is seriously overcarbonated. So much so that it pretty much ruined the beer. Too bad, it could've been much better.
