The amber-coloured specialty beer Troubadour Magma has the aromatic and hoppy-bitter character of an American Indian Pale Ale, but is softened by the fruitiness of a Belgian Tripel. Enthusiasts appreciate the explosion of fruity scents from dry hopping.

Bottle at the Poatersgat. Amber colour with off-white fluffy head. Aroma is big citrus US style hops, bit of spicy maltiness, cat pee too. Taste is similar, initial hop bitterness then more biscuity maltiness. Not as amazing as I remember it being, but still nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Troubadour Magma on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8. Gylden brun klar med fingerhøyt beige skum. Lukter karamell og stenfrukt. Lett bitter fruktig smak. Stenfrukt og noe brent karamell.

Bottle. Deep golden color. Peach, pineapple and some American hops in the aroma. Sweet, even a bit tart flavor with some oily hops and loads of tropical fruit. Sticky mouthfeel, yet a very pleasant beer, well spiced with American hops.

Bottle at home. Has a hazy dark orange colour with a light beige, creamy head. Aroma of caramel, hay, grains, apricots and almonds. A little careful. Malty flavour with grains, caramel, dried apricots, grass, pine, and oatmeal crackers. Has a slick mouth feel, full-bodied and a medium bitterness. Decent. More a triple than an IPA. Interesting anyway and well-balanced.

Best before 2021/DEC/17. Pours a clean amber colour with a big frothy, almost creamy warm light-beige coloured head, very long retention and good creamy-wavy lacing. Fruity malt nose with some grassy hop notes, blending sugars and hints of caramel-berries. The taste shows a bunch of the same with nice milder grassy hops, warming alcohol, caramel and light berry. Becomes hazy at last pour. Not your typical Imperial IPA, but a nice Belgian-style version.

Uit een flesje op Texel. Mooie donkere amber kleur, goed schuim. Lekker aroma en een warme smaak, ook door het hoge abv. Erg lekker. Zoet, maar ook goede bittere hopsmaak.

330ml bottle. Pours a murky rusty-orange with a large, foamy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, orange, grapefruit, pineapple, Belgian yeast and floral hops. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, biscuit, grapefruit, orange zest, peach, grass and light pine with a dry, bitter, spicy hop finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Tasty.
