Cask @ The Gatehouse, JDW, Highgate. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Sweet malty caramel aroma. Sweet malty caramel flavor with some nutty hints. Long malty finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a slightly hazy amber golden with a small, rough, off-white head. Fruity, lightly nutty nose. Medium body, lightly sweet fruit accents - peaches - and then some nuttiness. The finish is dry. 200507

Cask-conditioned at the Inn on the Green, Bristol. Golden with long-lasting off-white head. Slight aroma of apricots. Flavour was of fruity malt with a hoppy finish. Ok, but extra alcohol didn’t add much.

slightly hazy, fruity nose. Very malty and fruity flavours, a slight hoppy bitterness in the background. Dry finish.

From 50 cL bottle. Pours orange only slight hazy. Aroma is fruity, apple and orange. Flavour is hoppy, candy/floral and a good dark bitterness into the finish.

500ml bottle from Tesco, Camberley. Golden with a creamy off-white head; malty aroma; smooth and nutty in the mouth with a slightly bitter warming finish.

Scoring cask as i think cask is much better. Golden orange, little hop nose, with ashort hop hit before rounding into a sweet fruit with a littler bitterness in the finish.

Bottle: Amber coloured, medium sized, lacing off-white head; strong citrus-fruity nose with a distinctive aromatic hoppiness; robust sweet-bitter flavour; sweetish, fruity, citrousy finish, becoming drier and hoppier towards the end. Pleasant MF, moreish.....A well rounded and tasty Bitter !

Poured from the bottle, a slightly cloudy amber/brown, the head quickly disappeared. A hoppy aroma with melon notes, nicely combined with malt. A sweet maltiness taste with a bitter finish.

Cask. Clear golden, with a small off-white head. Malty start on the aroma, with some fruity hops coming after a little while. Fruity flavor with grapes, grapefruit and lime, and a caramelly maltiness. Thin to medium body and a hop-fruity finish with malty notes. A pleasant bitter. (060710)
