A full-bodied Belgian style blonde for true beer fans. This deep blonde treat is milder than our 'tripels' but full of character. The balance between fruitiness and pungent bitterness makes this beer a crafty classic.

Bottle from Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Almost clear, golden colour. Big, white foamy head. Looks lovely. Aroma is yeasty, red fruit, red cherry, bubblegum. Taste is less complex. Slightly sweet. A bit thin. Finish is somewhat sickly. Started well though.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at ’t Pothuiske, 20130604) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, Belgian style yeast and mild sourness. Palate was medium bodied and dryish with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, Belgian style yeast, malts, honey, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. A good Belgian ale

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a hazy light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is yeasty, dry and crisp. The flavour is weak bitter but also slightly sour and acidic too, with some yeast and citrus fruit on the palate. It’s a nice enough beer, but too similar to many other Belgian/Dutch ales and it needs something else to set it apart from the rest. I really didn’t get the heavily hopped flavour that was promised.

Bottle, Carringtons, Manchester. Murky yellow pour with a fading white head. Aroma had notes of spice, yeast, wheat and pale malts. The flavour was a little sweet and ploughed a similar furrow to the nose with some fruits and gentle bitterness developing towards the finish. A pleasant number.
