Bottle at home, thanks to Jason & Tracey, most definitely an RB catch up 24/07/20. Rich mahogany brown with a decent khaki cap that retains well. Nose is chocolate digestive, nutty twang, mellow roast, brown sugar dusting. Taste comprises roast malts, dried fruits, toffee, light cocoa dusting, hint of tobacco, bitter sweet tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light dryness in the close. A decent serviceable porter.

Pours clear, very dark ( nearly black ). Small , nearly no head. Smell is mild red fruits, mild roastyness, tad ashy, caramelly, distant and mild coffee. sharp, wattery, bit creamy. Taste is sharp, rather bitter, mild coffee aroma, bit ashy, relatively dry, mild caramel ( yet not sweet, really ). Medium thin body, medium to medium high carbo. OK.

Bottle conditioned. Pear, plastic, roast and a hint of licorice in the aroma. Medium to full bodied. Strong roast flavor with "gunpowder", roast, licorice and salmiac. Hint of salt. Tasty brew with some complexity.

Cask CBC, Clerkenwell on 2nd November 2017. Sepia with shallowtan part-lacing foam. Rich and intense roasted malt aroma. Rich roastiness in-mouth with spicy notes. A bittersweet roasty malt finish. Full bodied with a zingy yet solid mouthfeel.

Cask @ Linen Hall, Enniskillen [260216]
Very dark brown, dense white head, light lacing
Aroma of soft roasted malt, some dark sweet fruits
Taste of roasted malts, touch of yeast, soft burnt notes, some dark fruit malts, sticky dark fruits, bit smoky, quite complex, but not a big fan of the flavour
Palate - Medium body, quite sticky, ligth sweet, more bitter. FInish a bit dry.
Overall - It’s well made, but I found it a bit hard going tbh

Pours a dark brown almost black colour with a plum purple tinge, a loose frothy beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, some hops and smokiness, a bit subdued. A bitter roasted malt, ashy taste, and long bitter finish.
