Christmas ale from this young micro brewery in Holsbeek, atypically unspiced, with three grains and two hop varieties. Malty taste, dried fruits, yeasty, hints of coffee and chocolate in the finish, velvety mouthfeel (probably because of the oats).

Bottle at the Essen OBER Kerstbierfestival 2013. Poured a clear dark amber with a round bubbly head. The aroma is big caramel malt. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a yeasty dry liqourice bitter palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation.

Clear brown colour. Malty, spicy aroma. Agressive carbonation. Strong caramel malt flavour. Very malty taste with some chocolate or cocoa tones. Shame about the rough feel of this one.

75 cl. bottle sampled @ Kerstbierfestival Essen 2013. Limited to 1000 bottles. Reddish dark brown with a small off-white head. Smells of anis, bitter herbs coupled with sugary & thick caramel malts. Tastes of liquorish, bitter herbs with some sweet metallic notes, thick caramel malts, sweet metals, touch coffee. Lower carb. thicker malts body. Okay but nothing that sets it apart other than maybe the slightly unwelcome metallic notes.
