Starts rich with a creamy head that quickly fades without a trace. Looks flat, but carbonation is present. An almost overly harsh bitterness arises as you progress. Hints of malts and hops, but one-dimensionally bitter near the end. Disappointing.

Flasche (50 cl) von einem Kiosk im Ruhrpott. - Helles Rotbraun, klar, reichlich beigefarbener Schaum. - In der Nase mildes, angenehmes Karamel- und Röstmalz, Btotkruste und schwache hopfenwürzige Herbe. - Antrunk mild karamellig, leicht toastig, mit mild herber Altbier-Fruchtigkeit. Mild rezent, schlank, weich im Mund. Im Abgang leicht krautige Hopfenherbe. - Alles sehr mild hier aber auch sehr rund und süffig mit fein aufeinander abgestimmten Aromen. Natürlich kein Vergleich mit den Düsseldorfer Altbier-Giganten, aber für ein Supermarkt-Bier erstaunlich gut.

pours clear walnut brown with a small off-white head and little lacing. malty, grainy, slightly sweet aroma. flavour bread, caramel, smoke, little bitterness towards the finish which is reminiscent of pilsner.

Color Coca-Cola, escasa espuma. Aroma tostado, a té y algo de uva. Muy ligera y bebible, pero con un sabor muy agradable malteado con algo de chocolate. Cuerpo y carbonización medios y final seco. Notable.

On tap at the Lufthansa Senator Lounge at Düsseldorf Airport. (DUS) Clear light amber with a large head. Soft with malt, some dried fruit, nuts and hints of caramel. The finish was dry. Easy to drink. Really nice to found an Altbier in an airline lounge.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. Clear dark amber/light brown with an off-white head. Malty, very slightly smoked, aroma with some caramel. Taste is semi-bitter and the body is thin but fitting for the style.

Can at home; present from my mates Hardy & Elsa. Pours dark amber to copper, clear, with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel, some roasty notes, a little metallic. Taste is a slightly sweet, slightly bitter, a bit watery. Bitter and astringent finish. Thin bodied.

Helder bruin bier met schuim. Smaak is bitter hoppig en licht zoet, lichte rooksmaar met sporen van caramel. Blijft redelijk lang hangen, erg goed bier.
