Crafted after the Oaxacan dish Molé, this full bodied stout contains big flavors. Cocoa nibs, chocolate malt combined with a blend of fresh Mexican spices and peppers produce a rich chocolate flavor with a well rounded finish.

Kind of a mole vibe, but went too strong on the cinnamon. Plenty of cumin. Chocolate, light pepper. More of the vegetable part than the spiciness. Light roast. Black pour with pretty good head and lacing. Bitter and light tangy finish. Kind of cloying. Can.

473 ml can. Pours a dark brown with full tannish head. Aromas of roasted malts and roasted peppers. Flavors of roasted peppers, cola, and roasted malts with a little spiciness. A bit of heat in the finish. A mexicake or pastry stout at 6% without big malts and flavors just doesn't seem worthwhile.

Can. Dark brown. The aroma is, I mean there's a lot of cumin and a lot of chile in there. On the palate, same. The cumin is dominant - and of course a mole doesn't showcase any one ingredient as it's intended as a blend of 20 or more. The chiles are odd - there is a greenness to the chile character that is definitely out of place. Given the price of stupid dried chiles in Vancouver, it doesn't surprise me that there might be some green ones in here, but it's definitely not ideal. The flavours, as odd as they are, are nevertheless in balance.

Nice dark blackish brown body and modest foam, strong spicy chocolate on the nose. Flavour is good smooth spicy chocolate, though the finish is a little underwhelming and the mouthfeel is a little thin. Otherwise unique flavour, good to see this type of stout attempted.

Green peppers, jalapeños and some sweetness. Cloudy brown with a decent beige head. Soft green pepper with a touch of jalapeño. No mole.
