Cedar is the only kind of wood that I’ve ever had that works for aging an IPA. Pours hazy orange with good head and lacing. Light cedar in an otherwise malt-forward IPA. Still quite a lit of citra hops in here though. A big, good IPA.

Bottle from the Kihoskh, Copenhagen. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is tropical fruit, grassy hop. The flavour is medium bitter, light sweet with a resin citrus woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Really enjoyed this. Nicely balanced and lots going on. Easy drinking at its best.

Cask, handpump at The Grapes, Oxford, Monday 7th July 2014 Copper in colour, very clear. Thick and heavy in mouth both in terms of consistency and also flavour, a little syrupy in fact. A touch harsh and hard on the bitter front in fact the bitterness is little like the bitters that you use in making cocktails. I get a woodiness but wouldn’t have guessed it was cedar, stinging piney bitterness. Its very nice. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6.

Thick, creamy, pale beige head, stable over hazy orange-amber, well-carbonated beer. Citra nose with citrus and quite some cat’s pee, valerian. Citra/cat’s pee is a wee bit overwhelming. Very bitter-hoppy, resiny and quinine-like. Again citrus and exotic fruit (passion-, but also imaginary fruit). Very spritzy, highly carbonated; pretty full bodied and (hop)oily slick. Longlasting fruity-bitter flavours. Not bad, but the nose could be seriously off-putting to some of the non-diehards.

Bottle shared at Mother Klly’s during the London Bimble 26/04/2014. Thanks to whoever shared this. Aroma is berry + lemon hops and some caramel malts in the nose as well. Hazed orange with a lasting off white head. Palate is semi-sweet caramel and a toch of salt. Flavour is citrus lemon, tangy fruits, piney hops with considerable caramel malts.

Clear amber colour, white head. Fruity aroma, rather sweet, tropical fruit, pine, hops, light cigar box. Bitter fruity flavour, malts, bitter sweet hops. Quite dry. Fruity finish. Light on the CO2. Lingering bitter. Lovely. Even though the cedar wood isn’t too pronounced, and for a single hop citra the citrus notes are a bit subdued, it’s a really nicely balanced brew. A hazy dark golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of petroleum, malt, spices, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of petroleum, malt, citrus fruits, and straw, leading to a bitter finish. 7/2/7/3/14

Bottle at Amarillo Visby. Pours redish amber. Nice complete IPA for a single hop. The cedar wood provides a special touch whiteout being too intense as in the CCB humidor IPA.
